Love From Your Pastor

Hi FBC Friends!

I love what Job said in our reading for today:  I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my portion of food. (Job 23:12)  What a great statement!  Can you say that today (and mean it)?  What is a higher priority for you – your next meal, or the Bread of Life?
I want to encourage you to invite your friends and their families to tonight’s big event at FBC.  Our 3rd annual “Trunk-or-Treat” promises to be the best ever, and what an opportunity it provides for us to engage our friends and neighbors for the sake of the gospel!
Please be on the lookout for opportunities tonight to reach out to all who attend, and have a great time with your children and grandchildren and their friends.  Volunteers, please park behind the building or in the grass to leave plenty of parking for our guests.  Please be sure to thank all the volunteers in each area for their service.  A special word of thanks to Elizabeth and all who help put this event on each year.

On Sunday we will continue our series in the Spiritual Disciplines with a message on STEWARDSHIP.  My original plan was to talk about the disciplined use of both time and money this week, but in my preparation found that there is just way too much to say about each!  So this week will be about the disciplined use of TIME.  Next week it will be about the disciplined use of MONEY.  (Please don’t make plans now to skip next week!!)  There will again be a number of verses discussed, but a nice short one to meditate on would be Romans 14:12.  Spend some time pondering that important verse.  I hope to see you Sunday!  Don’t forget, we’ll also be celebrating the completion of our new Christian Education classroom addition with a POTLUCK immediately after the worship service!  Bring something to share and come join us!
Thank you to everyone who is putting together shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  The deadline for the boxes is November 10, and we will have a prayer of dedication for them in the morning worship service.
DON’T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK ONE HOUR ON SATURDAY NIGHT!  IT’S FALL, AND THAT MEANS WE FALL BACK ONE HOUR!
See you tonight as we shine the Lord’s light in a dark world!  And see you Sunday!
Love From Your Pastor,
Michael
