I am so looking forward to seeing you tonight, Saturday (men), and Sunday!
Today in our Bible reading we came to one of my favorite verses: Micah 6:8. Check that out if you didn’t already today! God has told us what He requires! This verse is the motivation behind the naming of our third child, and part of our prayer for him and for all of our children!
Don’t forget that TONIGHT is the AWANA Carnival and Registration at 7pm! We are preparing for what is sure to be an amazing year with the kids. We have a tremendous group of leaders working to help children to know, love, and serve our Lord Jesus Christ. We are also hoping to continue to have an impact on entire families. I will be doing a class for parents on Thursdays, beginning next week. We will be using a workbook called, “Master Life Threads,” which traces the 5 character “threads” from the life of Joseph. It is based on the book, “How To Raise a Modern-Day Joseph: A Practical Guide for Growing Great Kids“. And isn’t that what all parents want to do? Please pray for AWANA this year!
This Sunday I will be beginning a new sermon series on HOSEA. The theme of the series is “God’s Persistent Love.” This is an amazing book with great insights for our lives as God’s people. While the so-called “Minor Prophets” are often somewhat ignored, they are just as much God’s Word, just as inspired by God, as the epistles of Paul or the Gospels, or the Psalms! So please make a concerted effort to be here for these important messages. For this Sunday, please read Hosea 1:1 — 2:13. We will look at the pain God feels when His people drift away from Him. This would be a good time to be praying for and inviting anyone you know who may have drifted from the Lord.
