On Sunday we will be continuing our series on the life of Simon Peter by looking at two passages: Matthew 17:1-8, and 19:23-30. The message is entitled, “Learning to Follow.” We will try to learn with Peter that following Jesus means following Him into suffering as well as to glory. Please read both passages and join us at 10:30 Sunday morning!
On October 13, I plan to do a membership class right after church, from noon to 3pm. Lunch will be provided. If you are interested in FBC membership, please let me know ASAP so we can plan for the class.
Only 27 days to Trunk-or-Treat! The Beavers are currently leading the candy contest over the Ducks, but we are still a looooong way from our 500 pound candy goal! So please watch for the candy sales and bring in the candy for us to be a sweet blessing to our community! We are also in need of many more vehicles to line our parking lot, so sign up on the clipboards in the foyer to let us know we can expect your help! You can decorate your car, truck, boat, RV, tractor, motorcycle, etc…!
Recommended reading: I just finished The Discipline of Grace by Jerry Bridges (my favorite author). It is a tremendous book – I highly recommend it! And it can be found in our FBC library! Bridges challenges believers to depend on the Lord and His grace, while at the same time doing our part in disciplining ourselves, all in the pursuit of holiness. This book will bless you – check it out!
