On Sunday we will be continuing our series on the life of Simon Peter by looking at John 13:1-17. The message is entitled, “Learning to Serve.” We will try to learn with Peter that learning to serve is one thing that teaches us what it means to be like Jesus. Please read the passage carefully and come Sunday ready to learn how to serve!
This Sunday I plan to do a membership class right after church, from noon to 3pm. Lunch will be provided. If you are interested in FBC membership, please let me know ASAP so we can plan for the class.
Only 21 days to Trunk-or-Treat! The Beavers are maintaining their lead in the candy contest, but there’s still time to fill the totes even more! October 31, from 6 to 7:30pm, our parking lot will be filled with children and families from our community, as kids go around the circuit to get candy and check out all the cleverly decorated vehicles and people. The Fellowship Hall will also be filled with people enjoying a free dinner. Please be praying that we will shine the light of the Lord on such a dark night! We are in need of more vehicles, so think about how you want to decorate (or ask Elizabeth for ideas) and sign up in the foyer!
This Sunday we are also encouraging everyone to be “puttin’ on the PINK!” We are standing together with those in our church family and community who are currently battling cancer. So find your favorite pink attire and join us as we pray together for those fighting this battle.
Lastly, I was just handed 7 tickets to Pioneer Christian Academy’s fundraising dinner and auction. PCA is located on Blakely Avenue in Brownsville. Their dinner is this Saturday, October 12, from 2pm to 5:15pm. I believe that following the dinner is when they do the fundraiser auction for the school. So, the dinner tickets have already been paid for. I’ve been instructed to give them to the first 7 people who want them! So you can just go enjoy the dinner, and participate in the rest of the fundraiser as you feel led! Please contact me ASAP if you would like tickets.
