Love From Your Pastor

Hi Friends!

It is good to be home after an amazing 10 days in Haiti.  Thank you so much for your prayers, and all of your words of encouragement.  I hope to give a report (with pictures of course) soon, but suffice it to say here that my time with Haiti Foundation of Hope was an incredible experience.  It was an emotional time – with the highs being very high, and the lows quite low.  But we saw God working in powerful ways there in Terre Blanche.  I would highly recommend for anyone who is able to go and serve in Haiti – do it!
This Sunday I will be starting a new series – GALATIANS: Set Free!  This first message will be an introduction to this letter from Paul, explaining some of the “facts.”  We will hopefully get a brief understanding of the overall message of the book.  Why did Paul write it in the first place?  What does it have to do with our lives today?  I trust that this Sunday will whet your appetite for more Galatians in the weeks to come!

I would recommend that you all try to read the whole letter (6 chapters) before Sunday.  If you read a couple chapters a day, you’ll be done in 3 days.  One question I may want a few people to answer during the message time is this: What is your favorite verse/passage in Galatians, and why?  Or maybe someone has a BRIEF comment about what the entire book of Galatians means for your life.  If I do ask this question in the service Sunday, please remember to keep your answer BRIEF!  I am not looking for a lecture, extended testimony, etc.  Just a BRIEF statement about your favorite verse.  Thanks 🙂
Can you believe it is 10 days till Easter?!  Are you praying for the names on your OIKOS list?  Are you looking for opportunities to share with them and show them Christ’s love?  Are you extending the invitation for them to join you at FBC?
Don’t forget the Sunrise service (6:30am) on Easter morning at Buttercup Hill.  There are maps in the foyer at FBC.
Also, for anyone that can help to “beautify” our church property – there is a Work Day planned for this Saturday from 9am — Noon, followed by a potluck (bring a side dish or dessert).  We can use lots of help to spruce the property up for Easter and the spring months.  Please come!
I’m looking forward to being back with you this Sunday, and to what the Lord will do in our midst in the next few weeks!
Love From Your Pastor,
Michael
