Love From Your Pastor

Hi Friends (sorry this is later than normal)!

“For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord GOD; so turn, and live.” (Ezekiel 18:32)
God’s desire is that people repent, turn to Him, and live.  He loves people, and yet He is also perfectly just.  Because of His perfect holiness, His wrath will be poured out upon sin.  But for those who place their faith in what His Son Jesus Christ did when He died on the cross and rose from the dead, that wrath will not be experienced!  So turn, and live!
That is also the message Jesus Christ had for the church at Pergamum.  He knew their good qualities.  And He also knew their tolerance of false teaching and immorality.  His response to them: “Repent!”  Please read Rev. 2:12-17 before tomorrow in preparation for what He will say to us.
Remember, next Sunday is FBC’s 161st Anniversary!  We will have a special offering for 3 missions projects:
1. Outreach Cuba – Jeff & Barbi David.  The Caribbean Initiative seeks to provide Cuban pastors and church planters with I-pads.  Its aim is to equip pastors to guide learning groups through the material provided by the ministry of Third Millennium.
2. Samaritan’s Purse.  Global Outreach selected this organization as a group which can be fully trusted to get funds and supplies to the persecuted Christians in the Middle East.
3. Red Zebra Project – David & Hilary Kerr.  Red Zebra strives to bring literacy to many of the countries in South Africa.
You will be hearing more about these projects tomorrow.  Please be in prayer, and consider a generous, sacrificial, cheerful gift.  You can specify one (or more) of the projects where you want your gift to go.  Our you can just give to the special offering unspecified.  This will be a special offering during the Nov. 16 service, separate from our regular general fund offering.  The idea is for this to be above and beyone your regular giving.  Thank you in advance for your financial gifts!
Looking forward to our time of worship, fellowship, and time in the Word tomorrow!
Love From Your Pastor,
Michael
