Hi Friends of FBC!

Then they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they eat. (Exodus 12:7)

The Passover event is an incredible account of God’s sovereignty, power, and grace! If you’re using the One Year Bible, we’ve been reading the last couple days about Moses’ confrontation with Pharaoh, the plagues on Egypt, and the Passover. Time and space will prevent me from going into a long explanation here, but I’d encourage you to scan over Exodus chapters 7-12, but especially chapters 11-12, which we read today. Of course the picture of the blood of the lamb spread over the homes of the Israelites points us to the perfect, without blemish, Lamb of God, who shed His blood so that we could be saved! This Sunday we will remember His death as we partake of the Lord’s Supper together. Let’s come with our hearts extremely thankful for “The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

This Sunday I will also be starting a new 4 week series on the book of 2 John. The title of the series is “Truth & Love”. Not very original, I know, but it covers the essential message of John’s second letter. Please read over 2 John prayerfully this week in preparation. I trust these messages will be powerful blessings for us.

The ladies of FBC have some great opportunities coming up that you’ll read about in the bulletin this week. One is a Ladies Night Out at 6:30pm on Friday, Feb. 7. You may have already received an invitation for this event. All ladies will surely enjoy this fun and instructive time together.

Also, they are starting a new Beth Moore Bible Study on Tuesday, 7pm, Feb. 11. It is entitled, “When Godly People Do Ungodly Things: Arming Yourself in the Age of Seduction.” There is a study book involved. For more information you can contact Susan Ruckert, rsajjel@juno.com, or Karen Joiner, kareware@gmail.com.

Men, you’re not left out! We have our regular Saturday morning prayer time at 6am, and discipleship study at 6:45 this Saturday. Also, the I believe the next Men’s Breakfast will be the following Saturday, Feb. 8, at 7:00am. A number of guys are also participating in the Men’s Leadership Class on Monday nights. Please pray for the spiritual growth of all our men. Also, about 13 guys are planning on a brief retreat on Feb. 21-22, to discuss the book Pursuing God by A.W. Tozer. For more information about that contact Roger Ruckert.

Looking forward to growing in Truth and Love together!

Love From Your Pastor,
Michael
