Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26 ESV)

The question Jesus asked Martha applies to all of us as well.  Do you believe this?  What an incredible hope we have — eternal life by believing in Jesus Christ, Who is Himself the resurrection and the life!
I want to thank everyone who came out to join us for the 4 Days of Prayer this week.  I really appreciate you being here!  There is a real blessing when we gather together in prayer.  I have to admit that I feel that there were a number of you who missed out on the blessing this week.  I realize that not everyone could come, and there are very legitimate reasons to have missed.  But I have a feeling that there are some who could have, but for a variety of reasons decided not to.  Let me encourage you to stretch yourself when we have these opportunities.  Step out of your comfort zone.  Try something new, even if it seems hard or scary.  Trust me, you wouldn’t regret it.  We’ll do this again at some point, and when we do, I trust we will see more of you there!
Men — All are invited to our Men’s Breakfast this Saturday at 7am!  We had a great turnout of guys at Men’s Roundup, and we heard some great teaching on discipleship, and were challenged to partner up and keep each other accountable to take some “next steps” in our walk with Christ.  A few guys will be sharing Saturday about their experience, so please come and share the blessing!
Our Sunday School classes will begin the Fall Quarter this Sunday.  If you haven’t been a part of S.S., or didn’t come much during the summer months, please come join us at 9am!  Young(er) Marrieds (or Singles) will be meeting again as a seperate class.  We will be using the same material as the kids this quarter in hopes that we can interact as families around the topics we’ll cover in Sunday School.  This should be a great opportunity for families to grow together.
The sermon this week is the first of two messages on the BIBLE, as part of our SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES sermon series.  I will be using a variety of Scripture verses (seems appropriate for a message about the Bible!), but I always like to give you something to read ahead of time to prepare for the message.  So this week please read Romans 10:14-17, and especially meditate on verse 17.  For those who went to Roundup, there should be some good tie-in with what we heard from Dennis Blevins.  So don’t miss it!
Also remember there will be our Quarterly Business Meeting following the worship service.  We will get an update on the Classroom Addition project, will hear a little about some missionaries that we are praying about possibly adding to our funding next year, will vote on the expenditure of money in the building fund, and vote in 3 new members!
Remember that the AWANA Carnival is Thursday, September 26th!  Make sure to come enjoy the fun and get your kids registered.  Please invite other families that could benefit from our amazing AWANA program!
May we grow to be more like Christ, the Living Word, as we grow as students of the Word of God, the Bible.
Love From Your Pastor,
Michael
