Love From Your Pastor

Hi FBC Friends,

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  I hope and pray it will be a tremendous time of thanking the Lord and enjoying time with friends and family for all of us.  Let the words of the Psalmist help us focus on what tomorrow is all about:
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!

Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the LORD.

I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation.

You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God; I will extol you.

Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! (Psalm 118:1, 19, 21, 28, 29)

This Sunday I will be speaking on Hosea 13.  Please take some time to read that before you come to worship Sunday!  We will be looking at God’s discipline of His children, seeing how it is another sign of His love for them.
Next week (Nov. 26-30) we will have 5 Days of Prayer.  We will meet in the foyer/library from 5-9am & 5-9pm each day (except Thursday – only 5-9am).  Please plan now to come for one hour or 36!  You are welcome to come, even if you are not currently comfortable praying out loud.  You can agree in prayer in your heart.  But please plan on being a part of this special time together.  We will be praying for the upcoming Christmas season at FBC – the children’s program, Sunday services, and the “Christmas by Candlelight” service which will be Dec. 23 at 6pm.  Also, please write down the names of people you would like us to be praying for – people for whom you are praying for salvation, people which you will be inviting to FBC in the next month!  You can email them to me, or write them on your registration cards on Sunday.  Praying for our unsaved friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc. will be part of the focus of our prayer times.
Have a great Thanksgiving and try not to get too stuffed! 🙂

Michael
