Love From Your Pastor

Hi Friends!

When therefore He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken. (John 2:22)
What was it that He said that the disciples remembered?  That they would destroy “this temple” and raise it in three days.  He was mocked and misunderstood for the statement, but He was referring to the temple of His body, His death, and His resurrection.  It was His death and resurrection that made it possible for us to have such intimate relationship with God that a physical temple is no longer necessary!  We actually have the presence of God with us!  In fact, we who are in the faith have Jesus Christ in us (2 Cor. 13:5)!  How amazing!
Speaking of His resurrection, tomorrow it will be only 21 days, yes only 3 weeks, until Easter Sunday!  Who are you praying for, sharing with, and inviting to FBC?
Easter Experience is coming soon too of course!  It will be April 3, Friday, starting at 5:30pm.  This will be an amazing event.  We especially want to encourage families with children to come and experience this together.  So invite the kids and parents in your life to Experience Easter!  Elizabeth will have some “footprints” available tomorrow with items that we need written on them.  That’s one way you can help make this a special event.  She still will need helpers for the event, so please see her tomorrow if you can help.
Tomorrow is going to be a special Sunday!  I am excited to hear about the experiences of Ron Whitted, Dave Ezell, and John Joiner out on the mission field.  They will be sharing with us the some of the stories and pictures from their times in Haiti and Burundi.  You won’t want to miss this encouraging Sunday.  Please pray for them as they get ready to share!
Please remember to join us for our Vision/Information meetings this coming week!  Wednesday the 18th at 7pm, and Friday the 20th at 3pm.  We hope to share our hearts regarding the vision for the future of our church family as well as hear input from you.  We have two different options so hopefully as many of you as possible can make it.  Please be praying for these important times for our family.
Men, all are invited to a spiritual retreat that is taking place at the church this coming Friday at 5pm and Saturday from 7am (breakfast) until Noon.  If you’d like more information, or if you are planning on coming, please contact Roger Ruckert or Ivan Stutzman.
I had a great time at the Annual Enrichment Conference of the churches of CB Northwest.  Our speaker Bruce Ware shared a lot of Scriptural teaching about the people of God as a new community.  Lots of great reminders about who we are in Christ, and how we are to relate to each other as the Body of Christ!  It was a great blessing, and I again felt so grateful to be a part of the Body of Christ here at FBC Brownsville!
Lastly, I have had a number of people sharing words of encouragement and blessing about the unusual experience of 15 minutes of silence during the worship service last Sunday!  If you have something encouraging that you’d like to share, maybe something that blessed you spiritually during the experience, I’d love to hear about it.  Maybe sometime soon we can hear from a few of you, sharing with the whole Body how the Lord ministered to you!
Looking forward to tomorrow, to the celebration of the resurrection, and to the bright future of FBC!
Love From Your Pastor,
Michael
