Love From Your Pastor

Hi FBC Friends,

Hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. (Romans 5:5 ESV)
What a magnificent promise!  We have hope, not because of (or in spite of) election results.  We have an eternal hope because of the love of God!  That love caused Him to send His Son to die for us.  And not only that, but we have received the gift of the Holy Spirit, through whom we experience God’s love being poured into our hearts!  Chew on that for awhile!
I am looking forward to a great weekend here at First Baptist Church!

MEN’S BREAKFAST – 7:00 AM Saturday.  Guys, you don’t want to miss this.  This is our monthly opportunity to eat excellent food, enjoy connecting with other men, and be encouraged in our walk with the Lord.  This Saturday David Ker, missionary to Mozambique who is currently in Albany, (and Roger R’s nephew) will be sharing with us about his ministry.
AWANA GRAND PRIX – Check in Saturday at 9:00 AM, and get ready for a fun time as our kids cheer their cars down the track!  This is not only a fun event, but another way to meet parents who may not normally come to a church service.  I will be sharing a challenge to the dads, and we will be serving hot dogs, etc.
SUNDAY WORSHIP – I want to encourage you to come Sunday morning prepared to praise our wonderful God for His mercy.  Set aside some time to read Hosea 11 before you come, and think about all He has done for you.  Are you thankful to Him?
VETERANS – Sunday is also Veterans Day!  Thank you to all of the veterans who have served our country so well, and to all of the families of veterans who have sacrificed so much.  May God bless you greatly!
Praise the Lord for all He is doing here at FBC.  I am so encouraged by the lives that are being impacted and the people who are growing in Christ!  Let’s continue to pray for our church to be a shining light, a testimony of God’s mercy to a hurting world.
Love from your pastor,
Michael
